| Dr. Yogesh Parekh is presently working as Assistant Librarian since Jan.2006 and Officiating University Librarian at Gujarat University, Ahmedabad since Sept.2012. He has more than 14 years of professional experience in the field of Library Science. He holds doctoral degree in Library Science from Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad, MPhil in Library Science from Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidya Nagar and MLISc from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. At Gujarat University, he is actively involved in the extension activities of the University apart from his routine library duties. He has organised more than 200 Programmes related to library orientation, education, awareness campaigns on different topics. He has made remarkable progress in upbringing Gujarat University Library to the next level. During his tenure as Head of the Library, Gujarat University was placed among top Universities in Digitization of PhD Theses with ShodhGanga Project, RFID Projects and accessing e-resources under UGC INFLIBNET Centre. Dr. Yogesh has contributed several research publications in the reputed International/National journals and Conference Proceedings. He has presented many research papers in International/National/Regional level Conferences/Seminars. He has been invited as a resource person and subject expert by many Academic & Research Institutions. His areas of interest are Library Services, Library Instruction, Extension Services and Information Literacy. He has created 7 world record in area of Library Science as well as Election commission of India. He was involved and contributed his duty as a Corona warrior in association with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Collector office Ahmedabad in all area like Food Package distribution Mask distribution covid testing and tracing, covid vaccination drive, sanitisation in effected area etc. |
